Rise Again: The Art of Rebuilding Yourself

Once the cup is empty, it can be filled up again. What is it?

That might be the key to learning to let go of something. And this letting go is, of course, going to be uncomfortable. Why?

Because it is something that no one normally does in our school system, you don't find the subject on how to let go; you find the subject on how to get more.

Rise Again: The Art of Rebuilding Yourself

And so that means that in that moment when people are confronted for the first time with this type of teaching, it's uncomfortable.

As a result, someone is constantly confronted between here and there.

Then he's brought down, and he learns how to build himself back up. Then he gets smashed down again. And so it continues.

Every time we as humans feel something is lacking, the answer is to just consume more. That is, simply go outside and look.

Where are you going to find something that is going to fill up that gap and fill up that hole that you are feeling?

That is the approach we are taking outside. But by observing this type of behavior, I think you can see that no matter how much you consume, no matter how much of these offerings you take, you never become a fool.

It's always only a question of time until your new desire starts to arise. It always just fills that small gap or that small hole.

For a brief moment, the core was packed with the sensation that something had suddenly struck very deeply. This is the essence of the Zen teachings, or the Charm teachings, to which the Shaolin Temple belongs. These are the teaching methods. That is, getting out of one's comfort zone is a necessary part of the process.

If I notice someone is already feeling very confident, yes, very bright, I know it's time to shut him down again. Despite the fact that someone is always confronted between here and there.

Then he's brought down, and he learns how to build himself back up. Then he gets smashed down again. And so it continues. Last week, you said I should do something like this. So you told me to go in this direction.

Today I'm asking you the same question, but you're telling me I should go in that direction? Yes.

Three weeks after Shiva, now you tell me three different things. This direction, that direction, and then once again you're telling me to go in this direction.

What type of teaching method is that?

It is for you to figure it out after you have wandered between the different extremes that exist. First I push you in that direction, then you walk. Then I give you other directions. Then you walk there. Then we can try again. Then you walk back there until you realize it's not here. It's all of that. That's possible.

Discovering what type of person you are, what type of character you are, and just resetting yourself for whatever is going to come afterwards.

So, and ultimately, what for?

Why should a disciple go through this type of education?

Because once the cup is empty, it can be filled up again.

Thank you so much.

Have a blessed and productive day.

Peace.
